Testimonials

Shuli worked with our son when he was 5 years old. Our son had difficulties with self regulation, sensory processing and writing which led to challenges in communication and engagement. Shuli found the way to get to our son, she always knew how to motivate him and have him participate happily in her sessions. Shuli has many years of experience working with kids with rage of challenges. She always finds the source of difficulty and treat it. Shuli is also an up-to-date Occupational therapist, she is familiar with all the latest methods and always thrives to learn more. She introduced to us the Integrated Listening System which helped a lot to our son. Shuli also educated us – the parents, she answered any question we had and explained what to do at home and school. Last, but, not least, Shuli believed in our son’s potential and that encouraged us to continue to work with him all the time. We saw a big improvement in our son’s engagement and daily living kills once started working with Shuli. – A. Z.

We highly recommend Shuli Spivack as an occupational therapist. When our now two-year old Shane was only eight months old we started to become concerned that he was rejecting solid foods and was only interested in breast milk. After a visit with our pediatrician, we were referred to several speech therapists who suggested that the issue may be sensory and that he should be seen by an occupational therapist. At ten months we brought Shane to see Shuli. From our first meeting, we knew that our son was in capable hands.

Shuli worked twice a week with our son to develop his tolerance of different textures. She kept us abreast of his progress and challenges. She was warm, patient and incredibly nurturing. We were always impressed with her attention to detail and keen sense that she had when providing services to our son. Shuli is knowledgeable and keeps up with the latest in sensory therapy and will go above and beyond to ensure that your child receives the best care possible. She arranged for specialists to observe our son and always made herself available to answer our questions. Moreover, Shuli treated our son like he was her own. They developed a unique bond, which contributed to his success during therapy.

Our nanny would bring Shane to appointments, and Shuli was great at involving her in the treatment and educating her on behaviors to reinforce at home.

Our son made huge strides under Shuli’s care. He is eating more than ever before, accepting and tolerating many different textures and is leaps and bounds ahead of where he was when he first started with her. Shuli is a true gem, and anyone who enlists her help for their child can rest assured that they are in the best and most capable hands.

“When we first started working with Shuli I was overwhelmed by my son’s meltdowns, challenging behavior, and life-skills delays.  It was a relief to meet Shuli, who is always calm and in control.  She is a true professional who clearly loves her job.  Over three years, for three days every week, she has been the same smiling Shuli, happy to see us and take on my son no matter what his mood or energy level.

Over the years Shuli has worked with us on ways to ease my son’s sensory challenges, and to improve his verbal communication, cooperative and competitive play, fine motor skills, meal times, potty training, and many other things.

Throughout it all Shuli has remained optimistic and enthusiastic about my son’s abilities.  He looks forward to their sessions, even though she challenges him and makes him work together with her on non-preferred activities.  He is rewarded for his success and Shuli makes sure he feels proud when he is done.  She clearly cares about his success, and they have formed a close bond.

I recommend Shuli without reservation.  We are lucky to have found her.”
